The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Bemidji, MN, is dedicated to empowering individuals through comprehensive training and hands-on experience in sustainable food systems. This fellowship welcomes participants to engage in a transformative journey where they learn to advocate for socially, environmentally, and economically just food practices. Fellows receive organic food system education and participate in various community initiatives, including growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing educational health sessions, and maintaining school and community gardens. With a focus on integrating food and ecological literacy into educational activities, supporting farmers markets, and enhancing access to healthy foods, this program fosters collaborative partnerships with local non-profits and community organizations. Each selected Fellow embarks on a six-month experiential residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year where they apply their skills to make a meaningful impact. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October, ensuring accessible opportunities for all aspiring advocates in the region.
