The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Brainerd, MN is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a fair and sustainable food system. This empowering program offers a unique opportunity to engage in hands-on education about organic agriculture while promoting social, environmental, and economic justice. Our Fellows are trained to grow and distribute diverse crops on market-style farms, lead innovative health education sessions, and maintain vibrant school and community gardens. As part of this fellowship, participants will also teach food and ecological literacy, support local farmers' markets, and help develop better access to nutritious foods through direct-to-consumer efforts. After a comprehensive six-month experiential training at our campus, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to apply their skills and knowledge. We strive to make this fellowship accessible to all by waiving tuition fees, ensuring that passionate individuals can join us in our mission to transform food systems in their communities. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
