Located in Buffalo, MN, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of food system leaders who are committed to social, environmental, and economic justice. Through a transformative six-month experiential program at the Allegheny Farm, Fellows engage in organic food system education and hands-on training. This fellowship not only empowers individuals to become teachers and advocates but also promotes accessibility by charging no tuition. As part of their journey, Fellows work alongside community partners to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement educational health initiatives, maintain community gardens, teach food and ecological literacy in schools, support local farmers markets, and foster community food coalitions. After completing their initial training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, applying their skills in partnership with regional non-profits to enhance food access and promote sustainable practices. Applications are accepted annually until March, and the fellowship experience runs from May to October.
