The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Cold Spring, MN, is dedicated to empowering individuals as advocates and educators for a food system that is just, sustainable, and resilient. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this program offers hands-on organic food system education without charging tuition, ensuring accessibility for all aspiring Fellows. Participants engage in a comprehensive six-month experiential training at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they learn to cultivate diversified crops, facilitate community gardens, and teach food and ecological literacy in local schools. Following their training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to implement innovative health initiatives, support farmers markets, and enhance access to healthy foods. Applications are accepted until March, with the Fellowship experience typically taking place from May to October.
