About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Farmington, MN, is dedicated to nurturing leaders who advocate for a just and sustainable food system. Our program empowers Fellows through immersive training at the Allegheny Farm, where they gain hands-on experience in organic food system education. We focus on the principles of social, environmental, and economic justice in our food practices. Without charging tuition, we ensure that our Fellowship remains accessible to all. Throughout their six-month experience, selected Fellows engage in diverse activities, such as growing and distributing crops on a market-style farm, implementing educational health initiatives, maintaining community gardens, and enhancing food literacy in schools. After this fellowship, they participate in a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to apply their knowledge and skills, expand access to healthy foods, and support local farmers markets. Interested candidates must complete their application by March to join us from May to October.
