About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Fergus Falls, MN, is dedicated to empowering future leaders in sustainable agriculture and food justice. Through hands-on training and mentorship, we prepare Fellows to advocate for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Our program is rooted in experiential learning, offering participants the opportunity to engage in organic food system education, grow diversified crops, and implement health-focused educational initiatives. Fellows actively contribute to community gardens, farmers markets, and local food access programs while promoting food literacy in schools. This six-month immersive experience culminates in a Community Action Year, where alumni collaborate with regional non-profits to create meaningful change. We strive to make this fellowship accessible for all aspiring advocates, eliminating tuition fees to ensure that everyone can contribute to a healthier, more just food system. Applications are accepted until March each year for a transformative experience running from May to October.
