About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Hutchinson, MN, is dedicated to fostering a just and sustainable food system by empowering passionate individuals to become effective advocates and educators. Through hands-on training and experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows engage in a comprehensive six-month program that encompasses organic food system education, community gardening, and innovative health care initiatives. This fellowship emphasizes accessibility by waiving tuition fees and encourages collaboration with local partners to grow and distribute diverse crops, maintain school gardens, and promote food literacy initiatives. After their initial training, Fellows participate in a Community Action Year, applying their newfound knowledge with regional non-profits to support food access and bolster local food networks. Applications are accepted until March for the transformative experience that typically runs from May to October.
