The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Mankato, MN, is dedicated to nurturing future leaders who advocate for a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically equitable. Our program sponsors and trains passionate individuals to become knowledgeable teachers and advocates for sustainable agriculture. We provide comprehensive organic food system education, promoting accessibility through a tuition-free model. Selected Fellows engage in a transformative six-month residency at our farm, where they actively participate in growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing educational sessions, maintaining community gardens, and promoting food and ecological literacy. Throughout their journey, Fellows also support farmers markets, develop access channels for nutritious foods, and contribute to community food coalitions. After their residency, they enter a Community Action Year, applying their skills in partnership with local non-profits to drive impactful change. Applications are accepted until March each year for the fellowship experience, which takes place from May to October.
