The Office of Indian Ministry plays a vital role in supporting the Indigenous populations of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. By fostering relationships with various Indigenous communities, including the Dakota and Anishinabe, the ministry respects and integrates their cultural and spiritual practices into services. Key offerings include multicultural worship, grief support, and outreach programs like Miigeweyon, which facilitates the return of deceased individuals to their homelands. The ministry is dedicated to bridging Catholic and Indigenous cultures, providing resources for those navigating addiction, poverty, and loss. By addressing these critical community needs, the Office of Indian Ministry strengthens social support among Indigenous people, encouraging exploration of its diverse offerings through their directory.
