About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Montevideo, MN is dedicated to cultivating passionate advocates for a sustainable food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Our program uniquely trains and empowers fellows through hands-on, organic food system education that is accessible to all, as we do not charge tuition. Participants engage in a transformative six-month experiential residency at AMI's Allegheny Farm Campus, where they learn to grow diverse crops, facilitate educational sessions, and create impactful community gardens. During the Community Action Year, fellows collaborate with regional non-profits to implement innovative health care strategies, enhance food and ecological literacy in schools, and strengthen community food initiatives. The fellowship focuses on increasing access to healthy foods through support of farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs, ensuring a nourished community for all. Applications are accepted until March, with the fellowship running from May to October, providing an enriching opportunity to make a tangible difference both in communities and within the food systems we rely on.
