About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Monticello, MN, provides a transformative opportunity for individuals to become advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Through a tuition-free model, this fellowship empowers participants with hands-on training in organic agriculture, community engagement, and food education. Fellows will engage in impactful projects such as cultivating diverse crops on market-style farms, leading educational initiatives in health care, maintaining school and community gardens, and enhancing food literacy in educational settings. Additionally, they will support farmers markets, create access to healthy foods, and mentor future cohorts in community-driven food initiatives. This nine-month program combines immersive, residential learning with practical experience, enabling Fellows to implement their training in collaboration with local non-profits, all aimed at fostering a resilient and sustainable food system. Applications are due by March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
