About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in New Prague, MN, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders in sustainable agriculture and food justice. Our fellowship program empowers participants to advocate for a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically equitable. With no tuition costs to increase accessibility, we provide comprehensive organic food system education and hands-on experience. Our Fellows engage in diverse activities such as growing and distributing crops, maintaining community gardens, and integrating food literacy into educational settings. Through partnerships with local non-profit organizations, Fellows focus on enhancing access to healthy foods, supporting farmers markets, and fostering community food initiatives. The program includes a transformative six-month residency at Allegheny Farm, followed by a Community Action Year, where knowledge and skills are applied in real-world contexts. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
