About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
Based in Northfield, MN, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to cultivating leaders who advocate for a just food system. Through comprehensive training and hands-on experience at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, Fellows are empowered to promote social, environmental, and economic justice in agriculture. Our Fellowship is tuition-free, ensuring accessibility for all aspiring advocates. Participants engage in a range of impactful activities including sustainable farming, implementing health-focused educational sessions, maintaining community gardens, and fostering food literacy in schools. In addition, Fellows play a vital role in enhancing local food access through farmer's markets and community food projects. The Fellowship includes a transformative six-month immersive learning period followed by a Community Action Year, where selected individuals collaborate with regional non-profits to bring their training to life. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
