About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Saint Joseph, MN, is dedicated to cultivating advocates for a fair and sustainable food system. By providing a comprehensive training program that is free of charge, we focus on enhancing accessibility and empowering Fellows to engage in community-driven food initiatives. Our Fellows learn through hands-on experience at our Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, where they focus on organic food system education, crop diversification, and community engagement. Participants work alongside local partners to grow and distribute healthy foods, implement educational programs in schools, support farmers markets, and develop food literacy initiatives. After completing a six-month immersive experience, Fellows transition into a Community Action Year, where they collaborate with regional non-profits to drive impactful change. The application process runs annually, with deadlines in March for experiences from May to October.
