The Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Oncology Program in Sauk Rapids, MN, is dedicated to addressing the unique needs of cancer patients aged 15 to 30. Our compassionate, multidisciplinary AYA care team collaborates with patients and their families to develop personalized treatment plans that encompass medical, emotional, and social support throughout the journey from diagnosis to recovery. We believe that effective care is a partnership among patients, families, and a diverse group of specialists, including physicians, nurses, psychologists, and social workers from both Children’s Minnesota and Allina Health’s Abbott Northwestern Hospital. Our program is sensitive to the distinct challenges faced by young adults, including concerns about returning to work and school, financial and insurance hurdles, and navigating relationships. Throughout treatment, patients may also participate in clinical trials, aimed at advancing cancer therapies and improving quality of life. At our program, we strive to ensure that every young adult receives the comprehensive support they need, regardless of their insurance status, since we accept most major insurance plans and offer financial assistance options.
