About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Savage, MN, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates for a just food system, focusing on social, environmental, and economic equity. Our program provides comprehensive organic food system education through hands-on, experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA. We offer selected Fellows a unique opportunity to gain essential skills without the burden of tuition, ensuring the program remains accessible to all. During their six-month residency, Fellows engage in various initiatives such as growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing innovative educational sessions, and enhancing food literacy within schools and communities. Additionally, they support local farmers markets, develop access channels for healthy foods, and contribute to community food coalition efforts. Following their fellowship, participants embark on a Community Action Year, where they apply their training in collaboration with regional non-profit organizations. Applications are accepted until March, with the program running from May through October each year.
