The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Cooperstown, ND, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to become advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Through our program, we offer immersive, hands-on education in organic farming and food systems without charging tuition, ensuring accessibility for all aspiring fellows. Participants will have the opportunity to grow and distribute diverse crops on a market-style farm, lead innovative health care educational sessions, maintain school and community gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy into local education. Fellows will also engage in community food coalition activities, support farmers markets and direct-to-consumer sales, and mentor future cohorts. The fellowship spans six months of experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus followed by a Community Action Year, where fellows apply their skills in collaboration with regional non-profit organizations. Applications are due by March each year, with the program running from May to October.
