At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Ellendale, ND, we empower passionate individuals to drive change within our food systems through comprehensive education and hands-on experience. Our fellowship program, providing an accessible opportunity without tuition fees, fosters the development of socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable food practices. Fellows participate in a six-month immersive training at our Allegheny Farm, where they engage in organic food system education, collaborate with community partners, grow and distribute diverse crops, and develop initiatives such as school gardens and farmers markets. Following their training, fellows embark on a Community Action Year, where they apply their knowledge to enhance local food access and advocate for food justice with regional non-profit organizations. Applications are open until March, with the fellowship running from May to October, welcoming those eager to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
