About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Located in Fort Yates, ND, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to fostering a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system through hands-on education and community engagement. Our dynamic program empowers selected Fellows as they embark on a six-month experiential journey at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where they gain vital knowledge in organic food systems and actively contribute to diverse initiatives such as growing and distributing crops, maintaining community gardens, and enhancing food literacy within local schools. By ensuring that tuition is free, we prioritize accessibility and encourage collaboration with regional non-profits to create lasting impacts. After their Fellowship, participants enter a Community Action Year, applying their skills to advocate for food justice and support local farmers markets, direct-to-consumer programs, and community food coalitions. Interested applicants are invited to submit their applications by March for a transformative experience running from May to October each year.
