About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Hankinson, ND, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to become passionate advocates for a just food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable. This immersive fellowship experience provides comprehensive education on organic food systems, practical farming, and community engagement, all without tuition fees to ensure accessibility. Participants are involved in diverse initiatives, from growing and distributing crops on market-style farms to implementing educational programs in health care and maintaining community gardens. Fellows are also instrumental in fostering food and ecological literacy in schools, supporting local farmers markets, and developing distribution channels that enhance access to healthy foods. After a six-month residency at our facilities, each Fellow embarks on a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge collaboratively with regional non-profit organizations. Applications are typically accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience commencing in May.
