The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Horace, ND, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates for a just food system, emphasizing social, environmental, and economic equity. This immersive program offers Fellows the opportunity to engage in organic food system education, where they can participate in diverse agricultural practices, such as growing and distributing crops on market-style farms and implementing health-oriented educational sessions. Our Fellows also gain hands-on experience by maintaining school and community gardens, promoting food and ecological literacy, and supporting local markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives. Through a six-month residential program at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year, selected individuals collaborate with regional non-profits to actively improve food access and strengthen community food coalitions. We emphasize accessibility by waiving tuition fees, ensuring that passionate individuals can join us in transforming our food systems without financial barriers. The application deadline is in March, with the program running from May to October each year.
