About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
Located in Jamestown, ND, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to developing passionate leaders committed to advancing a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. This inclusive program, which charges no tuition to enhance accessibility, offers Fellows immersive training in organic food system education over a six-month period at the Allegheny Farm Campus. Participants gain hands-on experience through diversified crop production on a market-style farm and engage in community-focused initiatives such as establishing and maintaining school gardens, planning educational sessions that integrate food and ecological literacy, and supporting farmers markets to foster direct access to healthy foods. Additionally, Fellows collaborate with regional non-profits during their Community Action Year, applying their knowledge and skills to create sustainable solutions within their communities. With an application deadline in March, the Fellowship runs from May to October, welcoming individuals eager to make a positive impact on the local food landscape.
