The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Mayville, ND is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. This unique program empowers Fellows through immersive organic food system education, enabling them to teach, inspire, and implement impactful community initiatives. Over a six-month experiential residency at Allegheny Farm, participants gain hands-on experience in growing and distributing diverse crops, conducting educational sessions in innovative healthcare, and maintaining gardens that enrich schools and communities. Additionally, Fellows support local farmers' markets and develop distribution channels to enhance access to healthy, nutritious food. Throughout their journey, they also engage in community collaboration by working with non-profit organizations, ensuring their skills and knowledge foster tangible changes in the regional food landscape. Committed to accessibility, the Fellowship does not charge tuition, making it an inviting opportunity for those passionate about social, environmental, and economic justice in the food system. Applications are accepted until March, with the program typically running from May to October each year.
