About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in New Salem, ND, is dedicated to cultivating social, environmental, and economic justice within our food systems. We empower passionate individuals through hands-on training and education in organic farming practices, advocating for sustainable food access. Our program offers aspiring advocates the opportunity to engage in meaningful initiatives, such as growing and distributing diverse crops on market-style farms, supporting local farmers markets, and integrating food literacy into educational settings. Selected fellows spend six months immersed at our farm campus, followed by a Community Action Year, where they actively partner with regional non-profits to implement their learning. We aim to make our fellowship accessible by not charging tuition, ensuring that all who are committed to transforming our food systems can participate. Applications are accepted until March each year, with experiences typically running from May through October.
