About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in New Town, ND, is dedicated to empowering individuals to advocate for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through our immersive, hands-on program, we provide organic food system education without any tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all participants. During the six-month fellowship, selected Fellows live and learn at the Allegheny Farm, gaining vital experience in sustainable agriculture while collaborating on projects that include growing and distributing diverse crops, leading educational initiatives, and fostering community gardens. After their fellowship, participants embark on a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge in partnership with local non-profit organizations to enhance food access, support farmers' markets, and advance community food initiatives. Our goal is to cultivate the next generation of leaders who will promote food equity and ecological literacy within their communities. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship cycle running from May to October.
