The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Saint John, ND, empowers passionate individuals to become advocates for a fair and sustainable food system. This transformative program offers comprehensive organic food system education without tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all. Fellows engage in hands-on experiences, growing and distributing diversified crops on a market-style farm, leading educational sessions on innovative health care, and nurturing community and school gardens. They also promote food and ecological literacy within educational settings, support farmers' markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives, and develop distribution channels to enhance access to healthy food. During their six-month immersive training at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows collaborate with local non-profits during their Community Action Year, applying their knowledge and skills to make a tangible impact. Applications are accepted until March each year, with fellowship activities running from May to October.
