The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Saint Michael, ND is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of food advocates through hands-on learning and community engagement. This transformative program empowers selected Fellows to delve into organic food systems and champion a more just and equitable food landscape. Over a six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm, Fellows receive comprehensive education and training, all tuition-free to ensure accessibility. They work on diverse initiatives such as growing and distributing crops, conducting health-focused educational sessions, and enhancing food literacy within schools. Additionally, they engage with local farmers markets and help develop channels that increase access to healthy food. Following their fellowship, participants enter a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to implement their gained knowledge and skills. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May through October.
