The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Steele, ND, is dedicated to nurturing leaders who advocate for a just food system through comprehensive training and hands-on experience. This transformative program empowers Fellows to explore organic food system education and actively engage in projects that foster social, environmental, and economic justice. Participants will have the opportunity to grow and distribute diverse crops on a market-style farm, implement innovative health education, maintain community gardens, and promote food and ecological literacy in schools. Additionally, the Fellowship supports initiatives like farmers markets and community coalitions, ensuring greater access to healthy foods. Selected Fellows immerse themselves in a six-month experiential learning journey at AMI’s Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year where they apply their skills in collaboration with local non-profit organizations. This program is tuition-free, making it accessible to those passionate about effecting change in the food landscape. Applications are open until March, with experiences typically running from May to October.
