About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Thompson, ND, is dedicated to nurturing and empowering future leaders in sustainable food practices. Through our immersive, hands-on program, we equip Fellows with the knowledge and skills needed to advocate for a food system that is just and equitable for all. With no tuition fee, we prioritize accessibility and inclusivity in our training, which combines organic food system education with practical experiences. Over a six-month residential fellowship at our farm, participants learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, engage in community gardens, and promote health education through innovative programs. Additionally, they support local farmers markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives, ensuring increased access to healthy foods within their communities. Following their fellowship, each participant enters a Community Action Year, where they apply their expertise in collaboration with regional non-profit organizations. Applications are accepted until March each year, with fellowship experiences offered from May to October, making this a crucial opportunity for those ready to make a positive impact in the food system.
