About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Wahpeton, ND, is dedicated to cultivating a just and sustainable food system by training and empowering individuals to become advocates for change. Our Fellows engage in comprehensive organic food system education, focusing on social, environmental, and economic justice. Through hands-on experiences at the Allegheny Farm Campus, they learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, conduct educational sessions on innovative healthcare, and enhance food and ecological literacy in community activities. By supporting farmers markets, maintaining school gardens, and developing access to healthy food channels, our Fellows play a crucial role in their local communities. Each selected Fellow embarks on a transformative six-month journey followed by a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to apply their skills and insights. Applications are open until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
