The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Washburn, ND, is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of leaders in sustainable food systems. Through comprehensive training, the Fellowship empowers participants to advocate for a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. Our program offers organic food system education, allowing Fellows to engage in impactful initiatives such as growing and distributing diverse crops, conducting innovative health care education, maintaining community gardens, and teaching food and ecological literacy in local schools. Additionally, Fellows support farmers markets and develop channels to increase access to healthy foods while actively participating in community food coalition activities. This six-month experiential fellowship, followed by a Community Action Year with regional non-profits, is designed to foster a deep connection to sustainable practices and community resilience. We do not charge tuition to ensure accessibility, and we invite aspiring Fellows to apply by March each year for this transformative experience running from May to October.
