Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Allegheny Mountain Institute (AMI) Alliance, NE

About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Alliance, NE, is committed to cultivating the next generation of advocates for food justice through comprehensive training and hands-on experience. Our program empowers fellows to take bold action in creating an equitable food system that supports community health and ecological sustainability. With a focus on organic food system education, selected fellows participate in a six-month immersive experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where they learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, lead educational initiatives on health care innovation, and champion food literacy in schools. Following their fellowship, participants engage in a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to enhance access to nutritious food through farmers markets and community gardens. We believe in accessibility, which is why we do not charge tuition for this transformative program. Applications are open until March each year, and fellows typically engage in this vital work from May to October.
