At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Ashland, NE, we are dedicated to cultivating the next generation of advocates for a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Through a comprehensive and tuition-free program, we empower our Fellows with hands-on training and education at the Allegheny Farm, allowing them to grow and distribute diversified crops, implement innovative health care education, and maintain vibrant community gardens. Our Fellowship provides clear pathways to integrate food and ecological literacy into schools, strengthen farmers markets, and develop sustainable distribution channels that enhance access to healthy foods. Over six transformative months, selected Fellows engage in experiential learning followed by a Community Action Year where they actively partner with regional non-profit organizations to apply their knowledge and skills, ultimately fostering a resilient local food system. Applications are open until March each year for this impactful opportunity running from May to October.
