The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Bayard, NE, is dedicated to empowering individuals to advocate for a just and sustainable food system through comprehensive training and hands-on experience. This fellowship provides participants with vital organic food system education and emphasizes accessibility by eliminating tuition fees. Selected Fellows engage in a six-month immersive learning experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they delve into diverse agricultural practices, community gardening, and innovative health care educational sessions. Following this, they enter a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to implement initiatives like farmers markets, food coalition activities, and educational programs that promote food and ecological literacy. By fostering a network of advocates and practitioners, we aim to enhance access to healthy foods and create resilient communities throughout the region.
