About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Based in Burwell, NE, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship empowers emerging leaders to advocate for an equitable and sustainable food system. Through comprehensive training and real-world experiences, Fellows are equipped to promote socially, environmentally, and economically just practices in agriculture. The program offers a unique opportunity for participants to engage in organic food system education, collaborate with local partners on diverse farming initiatives, facilitate innovative health-focused educational sessions, maintain community and school gardens, and enhance food literacy within educational settings. Over a six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a year of community action, selected Fellows gain hands-on experience while mentoring future participants. The Fellowship is tuition-free, ensuring that access to knowledge and skills in food assistance and farming is available to all who seek to make a positive impact in their communities.
