About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
Located in Central City, NE, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to nurturing future leaders in sustainable agriculture and community food systems. Through a comprehensive training program, this fellowship enables participants to become informed advocates for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. By offering organic food system education without tuition barriers, we ensure accessibility for all aspiring Fellows. Participants engage in hands-on experiences, including growing and distributing diversified crops, leading educational initiatives in innovative health care, managing school and community gardens, and enhancing food literacy within educational settings. Throughout their six-month residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, selected participants not only gain practical skills but also collaborate with local non-profits during their Community Action Year to promote healthy food access and strengthen community food initiatives. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program typically running from May to October.
