The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Crete, NE, is dedicated to fostering a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system through hands-on education and advocacy. Our program provides aspiring leaders with the crucial skills needed to influence and improve local food systems. By offering organic food system education without tuition, we ensure that our Fellowship remains accessible to all. Selected Fellows engage in a comprehensive six-month residency at our campus, where they learn to grow and distribute a diverse range of crops, implement educational health initiatives, and develop community gardens. Additionally, they take part in promoting food and ecological literacy in schools, support local farmers markets, and collaborate with community food coalitions to enhance access to healthy food. After this immersive experience, Fellows participate in a Community Action Year, applying their training in partnership with regional non-profit organizations. Applications are accepted until March of each year, with the Fellowship experience running from May to October.
