About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in David City, NE, is dedicated to transforming the food system by empowering individuals to serve as educators and advocates for sustainable food practices. We provide comprehensive training that is both accessible and impactful, ensuring that our Fellows are equipped to promote a food system that champions social, environmental, and economic justice. Throughout the six-month hands-on program, participants engage in organic food system education while working on diversified market-style farming and supporting community initiatives such as school gardens, farmers markets, and health education. Following the fellowship, our graduates embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to implement what they have learned and foster greater access to healthy foods in their communities. Our commitment is to cultivate leaders who understand the importance of food literacy and equitable access to nutritious food, ensuring the vitality of our communities.
