About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Falls City, NE, we are dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders in food justice and sustainability. Our program provides rigorous training for Fellows to become knowledgeable advocates for a food system that embraces social, environmental, and economic equity. We ensure that our Fellowship is accessible by offering it tuition-free, allowing diverse voices to engage in essential organic food system education. Throughout the transformational six-month residency at our farm, participants gain hands-on experience in diversified market-style farming, educational initiatives for innovative health care, and community garden management. With a focus on food and ecological literacy, our Fellows work to support local farmers markets, enhance distribution channels for nutritious foods, and contribute to community food coalitions. Following their immersive education, each Fellow embarks on a Community Action Year, where they apply their skills in collaboration with regional nonprofit organizations. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October, paving the way for meaningful impact in local food systems.
