Based in Geneva, NE, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to nurturing future leaders committed to transforming our food systems into equitable, sustainable, and nourishing environments. This program empowers selected Fellows through comprehensive, hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, where they engage in organic food system education and develop practical skills in farming, health advocacy, and community engagement. The Fellowship promotes access by not charging tuition, making it easier for diverse candidates to participate. Throughout their six-month residency, Fellows will learn to grow and distribute diversified crops, implement innovative health education sessions, manage school and community gardens, and foster food literacy among students. Following their residency, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to elevate food access and sustainability initiatives. Applications are open until March, with the program running from May to October each year.
