The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Gering, NE is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to advocate for a food system that is equitable and sustainable. Our program offers comprehensive education in organic food systems, allowing selected Fellows to engage in hands-on learning experiences at Allegheny Farm. Throughout six months of immersive training, participants gain practical skills that enable them to promote food accessibility, establish community gardens, and implement innovative health education programs. With no tuition fees, we prioritize accessibility to ensure that passionate individuals can join our mission of nurturing diverse crops, supporting local farmers' markets, and enhancing food literacy in schools. After their fellowship, graduates embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to make a lasting impact in their communities. Applications are open until March each year, with the fellowship experience taking place from May to October.
