About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Gordon, NE, is dedicated to cultivating a just and sustainable food system by empowering aspiring advocates and educators. Through hands-on training and experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm, selected Fellows engage in organic food system education and community initiatives that promote food justice and ecological awareness. Our program supports diverse projects such as managing market-style farms, conducting health-focused educational sessions, and enhancing school and community gardens. We believe in making this fellowship accessible, which is why we do not charge tuition. Fellows enjoy a transformative six-month residency, followed by a Community Action Year where they implement their knowledge with regional non-profits. Applications are open until March each year, with opportunities running from May through October, ensuring a practical, impactful learning experience.
