About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Gretna, NE, is dedicated to fostering a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through our comprehensive training program, we empower Fellows to become passionate advocates and educators in the realm of sustainable agriculture. Our program is tuition-free, ensuring that our Fellowship is accessible to all who seek to make a difference. Participants engage in hands-on learning at our Allegheny Farm campus, where they gain vital skills in organic food system education, community gardening, and food equity initiatives. Throughout the Fellowship, selected individuals work on diverse projects including growing and distributing local crops, leading educational sessions focused on innovative healthcare, and facilitating community food initiatives that enhance access to healthy foods. Following their intensive six-month farm experience, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to implement their training and support local communities. Applications for this transformative experience are due by March each year, with the program operating from May to October.
