About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Hastings, NE is dedicated to creating a just and sustainable food system through education and empowerment. This unique program sponsors and trains passionate individuals to become advocates for social, environmental, and economic justice in food production. By providing tuition-free access, we strive to ensure that everyone can engage with our impactful fellowship. Participants will gain hands-on experience in organic food system education as they grow and distribute diversified crops, maintain school and community gardens, and implement innovative health care education. Fellows work with local partners to support farmers markets, develop channels for healthy food distribution, and enhance food literacy in schools. Each selected Fellow completes a six-month residential program at our farm, followed by a Community Action Year where they apply their skills in collaboration with regional non-profit organizations, making a tangible difference in their communities. Applications are accepted until March, with the fellowship running from May to October.
