The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Imperial, NE, is dedicated to fostering a just and sustainable food system through education and community engagement. This innovative program invites passionate individuals to embark on a six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm, where they receive comprehensive training in organic food systems. Participants learn to cultivate diverse crops, support local farmers markets, and implement educational initiatives that enhance food and ecological literacy in schools and communities. After their fellowship, participants engage in a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to apply their skills in real-world settings. We strive to ensure this Fellowship is accessible to all by not charging tuition, enabling a diverse cohort to join our mission of promoting equitable access to healthy food across the region. Interested individuals are encouraged to complete their applications by March each year, with fellowship activities typically taking place from May to October.
