About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Lincoln, NE is dedicated to fostering a new generation of advocates and educators committed to creating a fair and sustainable food system. By offering immersive training and hands-on experience at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, we empower selected Fellows to engage in organic food system education, develop community partnerships, and implement innovative programs that enhance food accessibility. Our initiatives include growing and distributing diverse crops, facilitating community gardens, and integrating food literacy into educational settings. We ensure that the Fellowship remains accessible by waiving tuition fees, promoting inclusivity in our mission. Selected participants complete a transformative six-month residency followed by a Community Action Year, where they collaborate with local non-profits to drive impactful, positive change in their communities. Applications are accepted until March, with programs running from May to October.
