About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship based in Nebraska City, NE, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates and educators for a just and sustainable food system. Our program empowers Fellows through comprehensive organic food system education, hands-on experience, and community engagement without tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all. Participants engage in growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing innovative educational sessions on health, supporting school and community gardens, and integrating food and ecological literacy into local activities. Additionally, our Fellows contribute to farmers markets, enhance direct-to-consumer access, and participate in community food coalition efforts. Over six months at our experiential, residential Farm and Food Campus, followed by a Community Action Year, Fellows work alongside regional non-profits to translate their training into impact. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
