The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Ord, NE, empowers dedicated individuals through comprehensive training and hands-on experience to advocate for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this unique program offers organic food system education without tuition, ensuring accessibility for aspiring Fellows. Over a transformative six-month experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus, participants will engage in diverse activities such as growing and distributing crops, conducting educational sessions for innovative health care, and maintaining school and community gardens. Following this immersive training, Fellows enter a Community Action Year, where they partner with regional non-profits to implement their skills and support initiatives like farmers markets and community food coalitions. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
