The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Scottsbluff, NE, empowers emerging leaders by providing hands-on training in sustainable food practices that prioritize social, environmental, and economic justice. This fellowship is designed to remove barriers to access by offering tuition-free organic food systems education, ensuring that all participants can focus on becoming effective advocates for a fair food system. Through six months of immersive experience at our farm campus, Fellows learn to cultivate and distribute diverse crops, run educational sessions on innovative health care, manage community gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy into educational settings. Additionally, they gain skills to support farmers markets and develop channels to improve access to healthy food, all while participating in community-driven initiatives. Following this foundational training, Fellows engage in a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to put their knowledge into practice. The application process is open until March each year, with the program typically running from May to October.
