The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Sidney, NE, is dedicated to empowering individuals to become advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Our program offers a unique opportunity for selected Fellows to engage in hands-on education focused on organic food systems, enabling them to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health education sessions, and maintain community gardens. By fostering food and ecological literacy in schools and supporting farmer's markets and direct-to-consumer programs, we strive to improve access to healthy foods and promote community well-being. The Fellowship features a six-month residential training at our Allegheny Campus, followed by a Community Action Year where Fellows apply their knowledge alongside regional non-profit partners. We believe in making this transformative experience accessible to all, as we do not charge tuition for participation, ensuring that dedication to social, environmental, and economic justice is within reach for everyone. Applications are accepted until March for the ensuing program year, typically held from May to October.
